How often do you seek answers outside of yourself?
We turn to experts, mentors, books, and advice from others—hoping they’ll tell us what to do, which path to take, or how to make the "right" decision. But what if the clarity we seek isn’t out there? What if it’s already within us, waiting to be heard?
Take a moment to reflect: When was the last time you trusted your own intuition, even when it didn’t make logical sense? What happened when you followed it?
Why we struggle to trust ourselves
We live in a world that constantly tells us to look outward for guidance. Society rewards certainty, logic, and external validation. Over time, we learn to second-guess ourselves, to silence our intuition, to believe that others know better.
But deep down, there’s a part of you that already knows. A quiet voice that speaks when you slow down enough to listen.
Think about a time when you ignored your gut feeling and later wished you had trusted it. What stopped you from listening?
How to reconnect with your own inner wisdom
Self-trust isn’t something you either have or don’t have—it’s something you cultivate. It grows in small moments, through choices made from alignment rather than fear.
Start by asking yourself:
When have I felt the most in tune with myself?
What decisions have I made in the past that felt deeply right, even if I couldn’t explain why?
What practices help me quiet the noise so I can hear my own thoughts?
Sometimes, self-trust looks like taking action. Other times, it looks like waiting, allowing clarity to unfold in its own time.
The difference between fear and intuition
One of the biggest challenges in self-trust is knowing whether your hesitation comes from fear or intuition. Fear contracts. It makes you feel small, anxious, stuck. Intuition feels different—it’s quieter, calmer, a knowing that doesn’t shout for attention but lingers.
Next time you’re faced with a decision, notice how your body responds. Does the thought of moving forward make you feel tense and restricted, or does it bring a subtle sense of relief, even if it’s scary?
Trusting yourself even when others disagree
Self-trust isn’t about rejecting external input—it’s about balancing it with your own inner knowing. Seeking advice is valuable, but at the end of the day, you are the one living your life.
What would happen if, instead of asking, What should I do?, you asked, What do I already know to be true?
The answers you seek aren’t always out there. More often than not, they’re already within you—waiting for you to trust yourself enough to listen.
So, I ask you: What’s one small way you can practice self-trust today? And what’s a decision you already know the answer to, if you let yourself hear it?
